Our Role In The Adoption Process

Upon becoming involved in the adoption of your child, the firm and the staff will make an extraordinary effort to ensure that the adoption of your new child takes place in a timely manner and that the needs of your family and your new child are promptly met and addressed accordingly.

An attorney's involvement in the adoption process can vary depending on the type of adoption being sought by the birth parents and adoptive parents. In agency placement, we become involved in the process following the termination of the parental rights of the birth parent(s) and following placement of the child with the adoptive family. We will handle the filing of the adoption petition and all other necessary and proper orders with the local court.

In parental placement adoptions and all other adoptions not requiring the involvement of a licensed child-placing agency, we become involved in the process immediately prior to or shortly after the placement of the child with the prospective adoptive family. My staff assists in the filing of all necessary custody and adoption petitions and orders.
